About the Casemate Team

We build tools and publish practical guides for special education teachers.

IEP Casemate is built and maintained by a small team that includes current and former special education teachers, case managers, and software engineers. We spend our days talking to case managers about IEP timelines, SDI scheduling, and progress monitoring — and then we write about it here so other teachers can benefit.

Why we write this newsletter

Most of the information special education teachers need is buried in dense state guidance documents, behind paywalls, or tucked into district PDFs that nobody has time to read. The articles here are written in plain language, with concrete examples — the kind of information a colleague down the hall would tell you over coffee.

What we don't do

We don't give legal advice. We don't publish anything we wouldn't want a new teacher to rely on. And we don't fabricate statistics — if a number isn't widely established, we describe things qualitatively instead.

Who this is for

Special education teachers, case managers, related service providers, and administrators who support them. Whether you're writing your first IEP goal or running your twentieth annual review this month, we're writing for you.
